The fiber is impregnated with silver ions, not merely deposited on the surface as in traditional bacteriostatic yarns. Nanoparticle technology is an advanced alternative technology that enhances the functionality of the additive, while leaving the properties of the fiber itself unaltered. Combining this technology with solution dyeing results in a robust final product that decidedly outperforms yarns manufactured using traditional topical finishing techniques.
